“If this summer program wasn’t being offered, my daughter would not have had another option.”
– A Summer Day Camp Parent
After-School Program “Drop-Inn” – Boys and Girls ages 5 to 12 receive tutoring in reading and math, do homework, get cooking instruction, share prayer and a meal together, and have some fun playing games, reading bible stories, singing or getting outside to the local park. Many of the volunteers that read with and assist the kids were once in the programs themselves and enjoy coming to give back to the program.
Teen programs – We provide career development guidance for teens ages 13 to 16 and match them with “mentors” in their career choice to be role models. We also guide youth to summer employment. Saturday programs – Volunteers from all walks of life come together with our children for a few hours of fun with reading and games. Christian Basketball League – Once a week Saturdays at the local community center kids and volunteers come together for organized sports activities during part of the year. African Drumming Lessons – Twice weekly during the After School Program, kids are bussed to Reformation Lutheran Church for classes in African drumming lessons thanks to a grant from Loop Ministries. Dance Group – Twice weekly during the school year, kids will be bussed and have opportunity to enjoy some dance classes |
